Concrete Floor Groove Cutting

Concrete Floor Groove Cutting

Groove Cutting is the technique to offer control joints in the concrete to guide cracks along the predetermined line, and it will also help to accommodate the movement of the concrete and avoid concrete cracks. Naturally, the concrete expands and contracts constantly according to the changes in the temperature, moisture content of air, or because of drying of cement, and it leads to shrinkage. It will result in the stress that leads to cracks in the concrete and destabilization of the base. Understanding these poor impacts, several companies are working for the groove cutting flooring services in India to enhance the quality of concrete.

When you do not control these cracks, it leads to an uneven surface. As a result, it will wear over time and cause water seepage, and it will damage the substrate. Though it is not possible to prevent the formation of cracks, it is possible to control them. Here comes the need for the Groove cutting, which is used to weaken the slab along the predetermined line and this will prevent the slab cracks.

Nitisha Ventures is one of the leading companies where you have such benefits of eliminating the ill effects and enough of the benefits of concrete in the quality buildings. We work with industry-leading techniques and professionals who possess enough knowledge in this area.

  • Groove Cutting is the cutting that laid concrete offering grooves of size 5 mm wide and one-third of the thickness of the concrete. It should be within 48 hours of laying the concrete to form bays of 4×4 m with the help of the heavy-duty cutting machine like a diamond cutting wheel and filling of the grooves with the right sealant.
  • We offer one method to insert the contraction joints to the slant, and this will guide the crack along with the approved line so that the cracks will be there and not in some other place. To make it more effective, the contraction joints should be at least one quarter as deep as the slab is thick.

If the place has heavy traffic, the load transfers mechanism. Load transfer devices will prevent the cement slab from shifting under huge loads. Shifting can lead to uneven slabs and breakdown in the joints. Dowels, loads plates, or slots can be embedded into the concrete to act as the device for transferring the loads. This device will be perpendicular to the construction joints, and it will extend in both the slabs and across the joints. The use of it is to disturb the load evenly slabs and protect the concrete in the joints.
